Today is December 21, 2002

Here's the update on the screening in Maryland.....
IT WAS A TOTAL SUCCESS!! A lot of people came and the reaction was really welcoming. It left a wonderful feeling in my heart. I was able to see the hard work myself and my cast and crew put in on the big screen. When I started breathing again, I enjoyed the film. Thank goodness for DVD.
Thank you all for coming out in the freezing cold to watch a 30 minute film and then party at my parents all weekend!! I was sorry to see it end, but relieved to finally get some sleep! HA! I'll keep everyone updated on the success of the film. Sadly, it did not make it into the Sundance Film Festival, but it's okay...There are only a million other festivals to choose from!! I will show Hollywood that one can be successful without having their film in Sundance!! Woo hoo!!! Stay close to this site for updates as the season for TV begins soon. (January) And, don't forget to sign my guestbook so I know you've been lurking! OH yeah, and "MINORITY REPORT" is out on DVD and Video!! Hope you get it for Christmas or Channukah!! Bye for now....Allie

The screening was a big success in Maryland. It was pretty cool, actually. We had a good turnover and lots of parties. It was nice to bring a bit of Hollywood to Rockville, MD! Check out the screening pictures. There are more coming from other photographers so when they do, I'll post them and let you all know.

SYNOPSIS
Purple Rose is a heart-warming story and will touch anyone that's ever lost someone close to
them.
It's about a photographer, Jill Meyers, who returns to her home town on the one year anniversary of her best friend's death. She meets a Stranger who gives her a second chance at saying goodbye.
This a short film and it's being shot June 14, 15, 16, 2002. Even though it's an intense film, it's gonna be a hoot!! So, stay tuned for updates.

QUINCY DAVIS (Jill) and DANIEL RHYDER (Bobby) in the Christmas Scene.
ALLIE'S PERSONAL NOTES ABOUT SOME OF THE CAST AND CREW
There are two female leads. Quincy Davis is in the role of "Jill," and I, Allie Raye, am in the role of "Sam," the diner owner. I am really excited that Quincy will be doing this because we have wanted to work together again for years. We met on a movie set a few years back and have been close friends ever since. She is a talented and beautiful actress and when I wrote this role, I never wanted anyone else to play it but Quincy.
My DIRECTOR is Chuck Marra. He and I have been friends for a long time, as well. Chuck read my short story a few years back and inspired me to make it a short film. He was the reason I began seriously screenwriting. Chuck believed in me and in my talents and pushed me when I wanted to give up. I am so very excited to finally be working with him. I will learn a lot on this shoot by watching Chuck.
My DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY is Keith Kozar, (AKA Allie's Water boy) While I am not sure if I want to give up my water boy, I do want his talent to be contributed to this film. So, I decided to go thirsty till it's over!! That has been Keith's dream for years just to be my water boy! Oh well...Like I said, I'll just go thirsty. On season, Keith works on the show "Angel." Off season, he can be found all over Hollywood, shooting local bands and short films. His production company is called Wyldcat Productions. He's a very close friend and I trust his judgment. I keep asking him to find a way to shoot my close-ups and delete my double chins. No such luck as of yet.
SEPTEMBER 26, 2002
THE MOVIE IS FINISHED!!! I still have to pinch myself to believe that after trying for 4 years to make this little movie, it's finally done! And, already submitted to the Sundance Film Festival. That was my dream. And, how surreal that my dream has now become a reality. I'm totally in
space land now!!!
In short, here's what happened on the day the director, Chuck and I took "Purple Rose" to the office of Sundance in Beverly Hills. He documented the whole thing with his camera, from the time I opened my front door with my mouth wide open to the last minute before we got into my car to leave. There we were, standing in the middle of Beverly Hills on W. Olympic Blvd and I could barely breath. Chuck has a way of putting things in perspective. The fact was we just took our FIRST film to the festival office. I guess when I try to write the experience, it sort of loses it's power of excitement. (even
though I'm sitting her grinning from ear to ear.) Won't know if we get in till the last week of November. I'm keeping everything I can crossed so we do make it in.
The screening will be held first in Rockville, MD (or the surrounding area.) We are still finding a venue that can hold a lot of people. We will be home November 21st and staying till Monday the 25th. I can't wait!! I've really waited for this moment for many, many years.
Chuck and I are starting two more projects and one is in Alaska. So, we'll be pretty busy till it's time to leave! My mother already has her bags packed, but how do I tell her she can't go...unless she wants to get a big
tattoo in Anchorage. Well, that's not exactly how it's going to go, but the theme of the movie is something like that!! So, I'll just let my mom keep packing till I break it to her gently. She isn't in this film!! (ahh, I know..whatever!!) :-)
More news as it happens. Check out the press kit link. I am posting the exact press junket on the link and if you were a "Co-Executive Producer" or buying a vhs tape, you'll get one too!!
And, yet again, thank you all for believing in us to make this movie.
SEPTEMBER 7, 2002
WOW!! It's just about finished!! Chuck and I put the credits on the film the other day and now we are just making last minute adjustments. (He's making the adjustments, I'm sitting back and waiting...) The time is almost here when I can say my first film is 100 percent complete! This has been an incredible journey and I don't want it to end...but it's time for Chuck and I to move onto another project!! And, that we are!!! I'll keep everyone posted the minute it's finished and we have a screening date!
ALL YOU WASHINGTONIANS, get ready!! We're bringing the film to MD the first week of November!!!! Woo hoo!!!
AUGUST 26, 2002
First of all, the Credit and Contact page has finally been updated, and new pictures were added to the picture gallery. Now, onto the news!!
No date set yet for the screening in LA of the film. Right now, it's getting ready and packaged for submission to the Sundance Film Festival. I won't know till around Thanksgiving if I get in or not! I have a good feeling about this one!!
I've seen the finished product of "Purple Rose" and I gotta say, IT LOOKS AMAZING!! Chuck did a brilliant job of editing!!! He's truly gifted! Gee, I just love that guy!!! I can't wait to show the world. I was very blessed to have the cast and crew that I had. Very, very lucky!!!
Well, that's all for now. Check back periodically for updates on where the film is showing. Chuck and I are on to making another film!! Woo hoo!
JULY 10, 2002
Wow, what can I say? First of all, you can read all about my short film "Purple Rose" at the website. It has a lot of pictures and information. More will be added when I come up for air!! I will let everyone know when the screening will be in Los Angeles AND Maryland. It will be soon, so get your calendars ready.
Thank you all for the funny letters about my role in "Minority Report." I'm so glad you all saw it and liked it. Yes, I know..."GET OUTTA MY HOUSE!" Okay, I get it!! I think most everyone's letters say the same thing!! Hahah I told you, my mouth is the loudest in that whole film!! And those of you that have known me a long time, said you heard my mouth before you saw me and after you saw me! Hahah! Thanks :)
JUNE 23, 2002
CHECK OUT THE NEW PICTURES!!!
Well, it's over. My big weekend shoot of my first film. What an amazing weekend it was. Everyone worked hard and put 110 percent into making this a good film. I know we all will be pleased with the final version. We are in post-production now and as soon as it's ready, it's going to be submitted to festivals. I'll be bringing it back to MD for a special screening as well as in LA too.
Thank you so very much to those donated to my film. Every penny was spent (and more!!) and I really appreciated it! I could not have made this happen without you. Thank you all for believing in me and my dreams. I'll see you on the red carpet!
JUNE 21, 2002
Well, for starters, "MINORITY REPORT" opens today and from the way the critics are reviewing this film, it looks like a blockbuster! The better news is that I AM IN THE FILM. I didn't see the cutting room floor!! So, enjoy!
Another bit of news! I'm officially a filmmaker!! My first short film "Purple Rose" is in the can and we are now working on editing. Chuck, the director and the editor will be putting in long, long, long hours to get this thing ready for the festivals!! Thank you to everyone that has donated to making this film!! Your name will appear on the credits!! Woo hoo!!
May 28, 2002
I have gotten a bunch of email asking about the progress of the film so I decided I'll just keep a journal on here. When I have the time, I'll fill everyone in!
First of all, I'd like to thank those people that have sent, and are sending donations to make my film. The response was amazing and I'm completely overwhelmed!! I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
It seems that all my ducks are in a row!! :) I still have a hard time believing the film is being made. Most of the crew has been hired and all the cast has been cast. My parents will be arriving the Thursday before the shoot, as well as my very best friends from Virginia. It's gonna be a hoot. I will post pictures of the cute town of Cuyama as soon as I get the time to scan. It seems, being a producer is really hard work, and very time consuming. But, I will say this, and the director will agree with me, I'm
definitely in my element. It's nice to learn how things are done behind the scenes but it's even nicer to make them happen.
More on all this later.
MAY 14, 2002
It's finally happening! My short film "Purple Rose" is being made. Shoot dates are scheduled for June 14, 15, and 16th, 2002. We are shooting in a beautiful, small town in Central California. I couldn't be luckier. It seems the Gods are working overtime for me on this one. Check back to the site for updates and pictures as the production continues. For any contact information, please email me at roseproducer@yahoo.com
A special thank you to everyone who believes in me enough to help me make my
dream come true.
March 2002
The time has finally come. I am making my short film "Purple
Rose." It's amazing how many obstacles have gotten in my way when it came
to making this film, in the beginning. And, it's truly mind blowing how
it's all falling into place now. Four years later! We start shooting June
14th in a small town outside of Los Angeles. It's going to be a hoot,
which is good, since it's a drama. I am even more grateful that my good
friends Chuck Marra is directing and Keith Kozar is Director of
Photography. More updates as they happen. I will say this, it keeps my
mind off "Minority Report" for now :) Only 45 more days!! :)
APRIL 4, 2002
It's getting closer for "Minority Report" to be released! It looks like it is going to be a huge summer movie! I can't wait till June 21st! I go in for looping next week, and I'm so excited that I'll get to see what my scenes look like!! Woo
hoo!! Stay tuned and stay in touch!
February 26, 2002.
SET YOUR VCR'S and get ready! "ONCE AND AGAIN" is back on the air! Yipee! MONDAY 10PM MARCH 4TH ABC. This episode was directed by the very talented and funny Eric Stoltz. There are a few pictures on the site of us from the shoot. I was so very lucky to have not only worked with him, but to be directed by him. A real actor's director.
NEWSFLASH!! DECEMBER 13, 2001
Hi! It's been several months since I've worked on "Minority Report" and I am glad to say I was cast as The Day Nurse on a TV show called "Once and Again." This particular episode is directed by Eric Stoltz, the actor. Oh my gawd! He's just awesome and very, very cute! You can see a picture of us under film/tv pictures!
SEPTEMBER 11, 2001
America has been in a state of shock and there are no words that I can say to make sense of all this. What I can say is, I love my family and my friends and I'm a really lucky person to have people in my life that love me. I've learned not to wait to call someone and tell them I love them, and not to wait for tomorrow.
As we have learned, for some, there is
no tomorrow. All we have is today.
